Your ideas stay yours.
This notice explains what the hosted Prompt Studio public beta stores, what it deliberately does not store, and when your chosen AI provider processes information.
Who this notice covers
This notice applies to the hosted service at promptstudio.clockout.co.za, operated by the Prompt Studio project owner in South Africa. Anyone who self-hosts the open-source software operates a separate service and is responsible for their own privacy notice, security, retention, and legal obligations.
What Prompt Studio stores
- Your account identity, password hash, essential server sessions, and password-recovery records.
- The source text or transcript you choose to save, generated prompts, reusable profiles, preferences, and generation metadata.
- Provider connection metadata and your encrypted provider API key. Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and are never returned to the browser after saving.
- Limited security and quota timestamps needed to protect the service from abuse.
What Prompt Studio does not retain
- Microphone streams, recordings, uploaded audio, screenshots, or image bytes.
- Plaintext provider API keys or key ciphertext in exports.
- Advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, or tracking cookies.
- Prompt and transcript contents in application logs by default.
Audio and images are held only long enough to complete the requested transcription or generation, then discarded by Prompt Studio.
External AI providers
When you choose a hosted model, Prompt Studio sends the content needed for that request to the provider you selected, such as OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter, or Anthropic. That provider's terms, retention, training, regional processing, safety rules, and account charges apply. Do not submit sensitive information until you have reviewed the selected provider's current policies.
The local guest builder does not call an external AI provider. Prompt Studio does not sell personal information or use your content to train its own model.
Why information is processed
Information is processed to provide the workspace you requested, secure your account, save your private History, connect your chosen providers, prevent abuse, recover your account, and maintain the service. Prompt Studio does not use account information for unsolicited marketing.
Cookies and sessions
The hosted service uses essential authentication cookies so that you can sign in securely. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Retention and deletion
Saved information remains until you delete individual prompts or delete your account. Account deletion removes the account's prompts, profiles, settings, sessions, events, and encrypted provider credentials from the live database. Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted operational backups until normal backup rotation completes.
Your controls
- Review, edit, export, duplicate, or delete saved prompts.
- Disconnect and erase any saved provider credential.
- Export your account data from Settings.
- Permanently delete your account from Settings.
Children
The hosted public beta is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. Do not create an account for a child or submit a child's personal information.
Questions or privacy requests
Use the Prompt Studio GitHub repository to request a private contact channel. Do not place API keys, private prompts, account details, or other personal information in a public issue.
